Taylor Woodrow removed an existing rail-over-road-bridge and replaced it with a new prefabricated structure. Located within a residential conservation area, the project was successfully delivered within a very tight timescales, assuring build quality and being aesthetically pleasing, whilst minimising passenger and resident inconvenience.
Our innovative proposal involved removing the bridge and positioning its’ prefabricated replacement within a single weekend closure. Our solution greatly reduced the level of night-time working and the health and safety risk profile compared with the insitu solution.
The project won the “Small Civil Engineering Project - less than £3M” category of the British Construction Industry Awards 2011.
