Job Role:
Balfour Beatty VINCI SYSTRA Joint venture is recruiting for an Assistant
Traffic Manager to join the team responsible for the construction and
delivery of HS2’s Old Oak Common Station in North West London. The circa £1bn project will include the
delivery of six underground platforms as well as up to eight platforms on the
adjacent Great Western Main Line.
Reporting to the Traffic & Logistics Manager, the
Assistant Traffic Manager will be responsible for organising resources to carry
out contracted works, and for ensuring that the works are completed safely
Duties:
·
Produce reports for Traffic Management Coordination, Vehicle Booking
Compliance, Vehicle Movements by subcontractor and performance monitoring the
Vehicle Booking Management System (VBMS)
·
Ensure system enhancements are tracked and delivered through our
Logistics Provider.
·
Produce Travel Plan Surveys and reports and act as the deputy Travel Plan
Coordinator (TPC)
·
Assist the Traffic Manager with the assessment of all Abnormal Load
Movements to site using appropriate software to check route for restrictions
and provide advice to hauliers.

Assist with overseeing the subcontractors Traffic Marshals (TM’s) and
supporting the Traffic Manager with training the Traffic Managers
·
Management of traffic management related sub-contractors.
·
Attend all required meetings such as TLG’s and other HS2 coordination
meetings
·
Assist the Traffic Manager with updating/reviewing the Local Traffic
Management Plan (LTMP).
·
Support the team with the production of Road Safety Audits, vehicle swept
path analysis from subcontractors
·
Upload all Schedule 4 and Schedule 33 consents, traffic management drawings,
RAMS documents onto Street Manager and Business Collaborator
·
Undertake audits of vehicles over 3.5 tonnes to ensure they meet the
required FORS and vehicle safety standards
·
Manage major traffic management installations, modifications and removals
where appropriate
Person
Specification
·
Experience
in Supervising Traffic Management Schemes and coordination of major street and
road works.
·
An
excellent working knowledge of NRSWA 1991, Traffic Management Act 2004, ‘The
Red Book’, Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, TSRGD 2016 Regs, as well as CAD
software.
· Computer literate using Excel, Word, Power-point.
