Information Manager

Job Role:

Balfour Beatty VINCI SYSTRA Joint venture is recruiting for an Information Manager to join the joint venture responsible for the construction and delivery of HS2ís Old Oak Common station in North West London. The circa £1bn project will include the delivery of six underground platforms as well as up to eight platforms on the adjacent Great Western Main Line.

Reporting to the Project Director, the Information Manager is jointly accountable with BIM Manager and IT Manager for development and deployment of the Project Information Management Strategy throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring interface between systems, and stakeholders, adherence to processes in the management of information and acting as the link to corporate support for system infrastructure.



  • Take ownership of Information Management processes supporting the project in conjunction with suppliers and third parties to deliver all information assets in accordance with documented policies, standards and procedures
  • Lead the Document Management and Control, Digital Field Technology and the conception and deployment of the Projectís Data Strategy (including analytics management)
  • Facilitate all information management interfaces with the Client (including corporate and project-specific representatives), Joint Venture (JV) Partners or Co-contractors, Contractors, Sub-contractors, Suppliers and any other third-party organisations participating on the project
  • Drive a culture change within the project to ensure information management is recognised and processes understood and delivered across the functions
  • Develop the strategy into a comprehensive overarching Information Management Plan [IMP] which responds to the Employers Information Requirements [EIR] and also incorporates the BIM Execution Plan BEP (BS 1192 and ISO 19650), DMP, DCMP, QMP & TAP if required
  • Undertake a continual technical review of systems and platforms to ensure Information Management governance system remains Ďfit for purpose' throughout the project lifecycle
  • Develop and maintain Project Information Management Organisational Structure and staffing plan
  • Coordinate and take a central role in developing the Projectís Information and Knowledge Management (KM) strategy


Person Specification

  • Experience gained in a similar information management role
  • Demonstrable ability to successfully deploy, migrate, develop and manage Information Management systems including EDMS environments
  • Extensive knowledge of EDMS systems, preferably Business Collaborator and Bentley eB/ALIM
  • Knowledge of BIM working methodologies and Power BI
