Instrumentation & Monitoring Manager

Job Role:
Balfour Beatty VINCI SYSTRA Joint venture is recruiting for an
Instrumentation & Monitoring Manager (I&M Manager) to join the joint
venture responsible for the construction and delivery of HS2’s Old Oak Common
station in North West London. The circa
£1bn project will include the delivery of six underground platforms as well as
up to eight platforms on the adjacent Great Western Main Line.
Duties:
- Develop
and maintain the project wide I&M Statement and (for each third-party
asset, works which may impact third party assets or permanent works which
require structural health monitoring) monitoring plans and monitoring action
plans.
- Review
of the Designer’s Monitoring Plan and drawings for I&M.
- Management
of Subcontractor’s RFI’s and liaise with the Designer.
- Ensure
there is a robust survey control network for the project.
- Support
the Consents Team for engagement with third parties and take the lead on
I&M issues, building relationships with stakeholders.
- Review
the Subcontractor’s Monitoring Plans, Instrumentation Manual, Installation
Report, Testing and Commissioning Plans and Instrumentation Reading Records.
- Review the
Subcontractor’s survey procedures and programme.
- Provide
briefings to Subcontractors and the wider project team during the mobilisation
period and implementation to ensure the requirements for I&M are
understood.
- Ensure
monitoring data is presented in a concise and clear format every day.
- Support
the Construction Team to raise compliance or performance issues or risks with
Subcontractors.
- Arrange
I&M technical meetings as required and issue records of actions and
decisions made.
Person
Specification:
- A
degree in Bachelor of Science or Engineering (or HND equivalent)
- Extensive
experience in the management of land surveying and asset monitoring across large
multi-disciplinary infrastructure projects
- Competent
on MS Office, Document Management Systems (such as BC, eB and SharePoint)
- Chartered
or working towards Chartership is advantageous
