Job Role:

Taylor Woodrow is recruiting for a Graduate Environmental Assistant to work on their North London Heating and Power project.  This is the second phase of three to redevelop the energy from waste power plant in Edmonton, North London. Phase 1 Enabling Works is in progress and includes major sewer works on the site for our works which is Phase 2 EcoPark South. Reporting to the Environmental Manager, the Graduate Environmental Assistant will be responsible for assisting with monitoring the impact of the project on the environment



  • Support the Environmental Manager with managing all environmental aspects of the project
  • Provide a point of contact between the site and design teams
  • Assist with production and review of method statements and risk assessments
  • Undertake environmental inspections and audits
  • Provide environmental advice with regards to, legal compliance and construction to the survey team and its subcontractors
  • Monitor contractors to ensure effective delivery of contracts
  • Coordinate and liaise with the Design Joint Venture to ensure the timely exchange of environmental assessments and specialist resources in line with the programme of works
  • Monitor compliance with the Construction Code of Practice
  • Engage with the Environmental Consents Manager to ensure that consents and licences required for the works are available, briefed and monitored where required
  • Briefing out the requirements of the Environmental Management Plan and Environmental Minimum Requirements
  • Review and input into project work package plans and task briefs where required
  • Attend consultations for example with local authorities, local enquiries and other statutory bodies where required
  • Record and report all incidents and instigate any corrective actions required


Person Specification

  • Degree in Environmental Management, Geology, Geography or similar subject
  • Previous experience gained in an environmental role is desirable.
