Collaboration & Relationship Manager

Job Role:

Balfour Beatty VINCI SYSTRA Joint venture is recruiting for a Collaboration Manager/ Relationship Manager to join the joint venture responsible for the construction and delivery of HS2ís Old Oak Common station in North West London. The circa £1Bn project will include the delivery of six underground platforms as well as up to eight platforms on the adjacent Great Western Main Line.†

Reporting to the Stakeholder Director, the Collaboration Manager will co-ordinate and manage the development of collaborative working relationships within the Integrated Project Team (IPT) at Old Oak Common.†


  • Act as a role model and advocate for all things to do with integrating teams, collaboration behaviours and relationship-driven delivery.
  • Work across the Integrated Project Team (IPT) to continually look at better ways of working, challenging the teams to do more continually. This includes working with areas of functions that are not performing or bringing in the relevant resources to support.
  • Ensure that changes are implemented in an engaging and collaborative way and co-creating implementation plans.
  • Manage and develop the Balfour Beatty VINCI SYSTRA Collaboration Implementation Plan.
  • Ensure all Integrated Project Team (IPT) documentation are developed, kept up-to-date and are accessible to all.
  • Lead and enable the Collaboration Champion Network to function in a structured and positive manner, ensuring there is coverage from all parties (& new suppliers).
  • Update the Leadership team on progress and take the lead on producing information for the Station Peer Reviews.
  • Lead, manage and deliver relevant engagement and communication interventions/meetings/workshops.
  • Develop case studies and lessons learnt to influence across all levels and externally.

Person Specification:

  • Experience in change and/or relationship management.
  • Experience of working in sectors with cultural similarities to construction/major infrastructure.
  • Organised and able to lead virtual groups and teams, with an ability to influence and communicate to a variety of stakeholders and in particular senior leadership teams.
  • Insight/experience in human behaviour, team coaching, facilitation, relationship development, profiling, and organisational development (this may be through project management, organisational change or a management role).
