Old Oak Common team shortlisted in UK Rail Industry Awards!

The awards celebrate excellence and innovation across the industry, and winners are due to be announced at a ceremony in February.

The team has been shortlisted in both the ‘Cost Base Reduction’ and ‘Environmental and Sustainability’ categories for their development of a hybrid renewable energy system, which is expected to significantly reduce CO2 production and operational costs on the project.

The system has been developed as part of the design and build contract for the new Crossrail Train Maintenance and Stabling Depot at Old Oak Common Lane in Acton for Bombardier Transportation UK Ltd. The depot provides maintenance, stabling and office accommodation for the new Crossrail fleet of 63 trains.

Fred Garner, Rail Sector Director said: “It is great to see the OOC team building on their success at the VINCI Innovation Awards by being shortlisted for these prestigious industry awards.”
