EcoPark South team achieves 50/50 Considerate Constructors Scheme Score

EcoPark South is the first phase in North London Waste Authoritys plan to build a 1.2bn sustainable waste management hub at Edmonton EcoPark.

The team recently had their second Considerate Constructors Scheme visit of the year and scored an outstanding 50/50!

45 points are up for grabs under the headers of Respect the Community, Care for the Environment and Value the Workforce, with a further 5 available for submitting innovations and best practice from the project. The team were awarded all 5 points for their submissions which included:

- Reducing embodied carbon by using recycled aggregates to replace traditional lime stabilisation for soil strengthening
- Using a vacuum sucker to lift precast cladding panels into position where lifting from above was not possible
- Using an electric mobile tower crane for zero emissions whilst lifting roofing panels into place

The CCS Monitor said: This Ultra Site is continuing to conform to the CCS Code to an exemplary levelCommunity arrangements remain of an extremely high standard, with the successful execution of the project's particularly thorough social value plan helping to ensure high levels of community engagement and support.
