Norwich Crown Point Depot

Greater Anglia Depot Upgrades

Taylor Woodrow is designing and building a series of extensions, upgrades and refurbishments to existing depot facilities for client Greater Anglia.

Works have been successfully completed at Norwich Crown Point and Colchester Depots to date, and the team is now moving on to Southend followed by Clacton.

The programme of works at Norwich converted and extended existing facilities to provide servicing, maintenance and stabling for a new fleet of trains.

  • Provision of new sidings
  • Extension of the maintenance building
  • Replacing gantries and services
  • Modifying the track, Overhead Line Equipment (OLE) and signalling
  • Provision of a Bogie Drop Pit (as pictured)
  • Replacement of existing Trainwash

Works at Colchester, Southend and Clacton include the installation of new equipment, provision of a new plant room, new walkways with associated lighting and supply of a sanding shed including an extraction system.

All works are being undertaken in live depot environments so must be carried out with minimal impact, safely and on time.
